Question by Billy: For those in the airport/aircraft/airline industry i need help?
I’m trying to decide which is a better career.
I’m attending a school that has both an air traffic control degree and an aircraft dispatch degree.
I would love to do both these things and I already have a knowledge of how both these careers work.
I just cant decide which one to choose because im not sure which one has a better job outlook/salary.
Can anyone in these careers help me with a decision? thank you very much.

I’m neither…but I am a pilot and honestly…I think the pay is going to be pretty similar, unless you get lucky and work Dispatch from a major carrier right away. Even so, you’ll probably start out around k, but senior dispatchers and sups can make well over 0k. So as a controller I think you’d make more money at the beginning of your career, but overall you’d see very similar salary caps between both careers. Also depends what type of dispatcher you are. If you’re a Scheduler, you won’t make as much. I will also wager the dispatcher has a bit less stressful of a job.
