Question by Anonymous 101: what is BC, Canada like?
Well I’ve been in Ottawa for a little over 10 years and people aren’t so friendly so much anymore or at least its very few in here to find and the winters are long and cold! anyways after my high school education finishes and maybe college education finishes, depending If I take it in Ottawa or in BC but I was wondering how it is like there? how’s the people? what jobs are usually offered in there? the living costs? and there has been some debates between Victoria and Vancouver to live in. so I need to know where in BC is a good place for me to move in as first timer in BC, less crime rate and friendlier people, more warm weather, less cold seasons and more job opportunities. How are apartments costs or townhomes? feel free to add more details about anything on BC living and lifestyle and things I should know when coming to BC for first timer. I’m really curious since I’m moving there soon, thanks! ^.^
i’m looking for apartment, or townhome (2 or 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living room etc.) and probably in Vancouver so what is it like in Vancouver? and do they open up a lot of students or young people in Vancouver, where would it be a great place to live in Vancouver? is there a lot of jobs for accounting, hairstyling or maybe like social worker, that sort of thing ?

Question by whingingpom89: how hard is it living in canada?
im a UK citizen but have visited canada a couple of times and travelled around the country. im currently on my final year of degree in international tourism management and want to emigrate after i finish university.canada was one place im looking to go for the friendly people and better quality of life, after visiting a couple of times i grew to like it. i have a few questions about living there, as obviously it is very different than just visiting.
-how hard is it to get visas to live in canada for a british graduate?i dont really want to do post-graduate but if it will be impossible to go without then i may do.
-what is employment like over there at the moment, particularly in the tourism sector (the european jobs crisis is pretty stinky right now, and i know that the US is too but im not too sure about canada).
-what do canadian girlsthink of english guys?
-i know canada is quite similar to the UK but are there any major cultural differences i should be aware of?
and the biggy-how brutal are canadian winters?(in all the times iv been to canada iv only been in summer and truely loved it) iv heard they are pretty nasty and it may be quite a big decision over living there or not living there.im not a big fan of cold weather by any means but is it bearable?id easily prefer crisp cold sunny weather over the miserable grey gloomy drizzly chill of english winters but im still not a massive fan and am definitely a summer lover.
id like to go either somewhere around the toronto/southern ontario region or around vancouver. any info from british expats or canadian citizens will be great, cheers!
