Aviation jobs for a 15 year old?

Question by USAF8421: Aviation jobs for a 15 year old?
I’m looking for a job this summer when school gets out. I’m really interested in aviation and want to become a pilot. I would like to get a job at my local airport which averages about 400 planes each day(general aviation, commercial, and military). I was wondering if anyone knows of any jobs that airports would let a 15 year old work. I just want to do something, it doesn’t matter if I get paid or not. Thanks

Career in the aviation industry?

Question by ncolton22: Career in the aviation industry?
I’m interested in moving into a career in the aviation industry. I’m looking to do something other than pilot an airplane. Does anyone know of resources available to research the field? What sort of opportunties are there in the aviation industry? I’m specifically interested in working within an airport environment.

Thanks.

What subjects are important to pursue a career that has to do with Aviation?

Question by AeroNancy: What subjects are important to pursue a career that has to do with Aviation?
I love going to the airport to watch planes land. It’s a hobby to me and when I graduate from High School I would love to do something with my life in the Aviation careers. I was thinking maybe in the control tower or even flight attendant (but not as a pilot). What classes should I take to get closer to my career goals? Where could I go for college and study this kind of stuff?
Thanks =)

You do not need a degree to be a flight attendant but it would help if you have customer service experience and can deal with the physical demands of the job. There was a height requirement of 5″3 or taller because the need to reach into the overhead compartments but I’m not sure if the requirement has been lifted.

If you want to work in air traffic control those are all FAA jobs. It is difficult to land federal jobs if you don’t have experience or someone on the inside pulling for you. FAA jobs require rigorous testing and I believe you must attend the FAA academy in OK. You can check the FAA website for specifics.
